Weeds hinder the development of the vegetable plants quite considerably and must therefore be combated in good time.

Weeds also remove considerable amounts of nutrients from the soil and thus reduce the optimal supply of the crops. They are less sensitive to unfavorable weather conditions and usually grow faster than vegetable plants. As a result of copious seed production and root suckers, they can multiply profusely and quickly spread over large areas. The yield losses caused by weeds are considerable and amount to up to 25%. In addition, certain weeds contribute to the faster reproduction and spread of diseases and pests. For the reasons given, it is clear, timely and regular weed control is one of the most important care measures.
