Due to its relatively shallow root system, it is more exposed to the unfavorable effects of dry periods than other types of vegetables and therefore does not tolerate changes between drought and moisture. Too high a water content in the soil also has a negative effect. One pours therefore in shorter time intervals, with the single dose at about 12 to 15 l/m2 should be. However, once head formation begins, care must be taken with watering, to prevent rot.
