Hardly any word has been “booming” for so many years as the ubiquitous term “stress”. When you move, you are in the stress of moving; the job takes a lot out of a person, is under stress at work. You have stress in your relationship, when things aren't going so well, how you would like it to be, and it's stressful too, when you go shopping for presents in the run-up to Christmas. It's often a stressful week, when there is a lot of work to do, or a longer period of stress, when you have a lot to do and little time to relax.

With a term as overused as “stress”, it is no wonder, if not everything, what is commonly associated with the term, necessarily corresponds to the facts or at least to the actual meaning of the word.

Stress undoubtedly affects well-being, it has serious physical effects and eventually can severely affect our lives and even end up causing serious illnesses.
