The cultivation of the young plants corresponds in all respects to that of the celeriac.
You will usually have to grow the plants yourself, as they are rarely available from horticultural businesses. For the first few weeks after sowing, celery needs temperatures above 18°C, because the seed only germinates sufficiently quickly and reliably at soil values of 16°C and above. A sufficiently large distance when pricking contributes to this, to achieve strong and vigorous plants with a good root ball, which ensure brisk growth even after planting.
