Before ordering new seeds, the remaining stocks from the previous year must be viewed.
The seeds of numerous types of vegetables remain fully germinable for several years, so that the remaining stocks from the previous year can be used again, provided they are properly stored. Seed must not be stored in a warm place and does not tolerate high humidity. The storage of the seed packets in mason jars has proven itself, which is sealed airtight with a rubber ring and clamp. The room temperature should not exceed 12°C. The seeds of some vegetables, like leek, Onions, Black salsify and spinach, just stays 1 year good germination. In the second year, the germination power usually decreases significantly, so that new seed has to be bought every year.
