The causes of damage to our vegetable plants can be very diverse and are not only due to animal pests or plant pathogens.
Especially the inanimate causes occur more frequently, than is generally assumed. This includes weather-related damage such as frost, sunburn, Wind and hail, in particular damage caused by improper use of chemical agents and deficiency symptoms due to one-sided fertilization (missing micronutrients). But soil compaction due to insufficient subsoiling and mechanical damage also belong in this category.
A prerequisite for repairing the damage that has occurred is the exact clarification of the cause of the damage, which is often only possible by consulting experts. Above all, damage caused by a lack of nutrients and certain weather conditions is easily associated with damage caused by plant pathogens (z.B. virus) to confuse.
