Combating disease and pests includes both preventive and direct measures

Combating disease and pests includes both preventive and direct measures.

In particular, the preventive plant protection measures should be given unrestricted attention in the allotment garden. Basically, this includes all measures, which serve the optimal plant development. Starting with the careful cultivation and care of the soil, through a regulated crop rotation to the right fertilization, irrigation and weed control, contribute to these measures, the disease- and to limit pest infestation. The use of chemical agents should only be considered as a supplementary measure and not as a panacea.
