Pumpkin makes less demands on soil and climate than cucumber and can be cultivated in any garden without major difficulties.
He prefers hummus- and nutrient rich, medium floors, however, it also thrives well on light soils, if the necessary humus supply is provided. The location should be as sunny as possible, be damp and protected from the wind. Squash also thrives in half shade.
Pumpkin is significantly less sensitive to unfavorable weather conditions than cucumber and produces more reliable yields. Essentially the same principles apply to crop rotation, as they were called for the cucumber.
