aromatherapy – Aromatherapy is the use of scent- and flavorings for healing, alleviating or preventing disease. Diluted essential plant oils are normally used in this type of therapy, which are said to have certain effects depending on their origin. Aromatherapy is used for many different purposes, and opinions on this subject, which is not necessarily easy to assess, differ widely: Scientifically, no effectiveness of this therapy can be understood at all, while one can understand the relaxing and pleasant effects of essential oils. However, the use of the therapy for the actual healing of diseases is controversial.

Normally, however, you cannot do anything “wrong” with essential plant oils, so that the controversial aromatherapy is at least one of the safer therapies of natural medicine. The only time you should avoid using essential oils is during pregnancy and the subsequent breastfeeding period, as small children may not tolerate the active ingredients. Otherwise, the use of this therapy is usually easy to manage, even if its effectiveness is disputed.

As wellness in the German sense - namely as relaxation- and pampering – this therapy is definitely suitable.
