At the end of June / beginning of July, the horseradish stalks are exposed and all side roots are removed.
By then, a large number of lateral roots have usually sprout on the planted foxes. If you want to achieve strong horseradish spears, these roots must not develop further. Exposing the rods must be done carefully. The roots sitting at the lower end must not suffer from the exposure of the rods. As before planting, the stronger lateral roots are removed with a knife. All others should be wiped off with a rough cloth. The poles must then be immediately covered with earth again.
