Blockages in the main growing season can jeopardize overall success.
Strong and long leaf stalks can only be achieved with celery, if it continues to grow briskly from the young plant onwards throughout the cultivation period. Severe stagnation in growth can occur, when the upper soil layer is washed away by the continuous watering, so that the plant roots suffer from a lack of air. Frequent loosening of the soil is therefore a prerequisite for success.
