Lay the terrace floor yourself, seamless and level, this is not a problem with pavers. The beautiful fired clay stones are suitable even for simple mosaic patterns. We show, how to do it.
Fired clay has a nice i, natural color. I But there are more reasons, to opt for pavers when choosing your patio floor.
They are absolutely weatherproof and frost-proof, and besides, they have format: Their smooth surfaces are just as beneficial as their regular dimensions. Compared to natural stones, they are so much easier and quicker to lay. A clinker fits next to the others. He is the same size as his neighbor. As with concrete blocks and slabs, you only need a level surface to lay them, well compacted sand bed, to loosely lay the clinker on it. But who – as in our example – would like to incorporate a pattern of half stones set on edge, must reach for hammer and mallet.
So that the bricks are properly fixed, sand is fed into the joints after laying. If it is not necessary for the pattern, you should avoid long joints. Because the shorter the joints are, the tighter the bandage.
It depends on the subsoil!
The laying sand must be thoroughly compacted. You should definitely get a vibrator for this. You can borrow it! The sand bed is leveled off with a board or a long spirit level: with a slight incline, so that rainwater runs off later. Laying out the clinker bricks begins at the edge of the terrace. Then you work your way forward. In corners, that are not perpendicular, the bricks have to be cut: either with a hammer and chisel or with a special saw. For the inlay pattern, halved clinker bricks are driven so deep into the sand on edge with a hammer and mallet, until they are flush.
Is the area finished?, you sweep sand into the joints and wash it down with water. The grains of sand wedge the stones.
