Support for climbing plants – Green wall up to the roof

How to kill two birds with one stone: With a trellis, you can green your house and build a wall for your seat in the garden at the same time. The two advantages cannot always be combined so well as in our example, however, it may suggest similar solutions.

The construction is similar to a pergola with suspended fence elements. However, the comparatively delicate posts are not free, but rather form an optical extension of the roof. All parts of the trellis only need to be screwed together, after they have been cut to size. So you don't need anything more than a saw, Power drill and screwdriver.

The grid elements ("Holmen" with 194 mm grid opening) are bought ready-made and shortened by one grid in height and width. Small sections of the wood scraps keep them airy at a distance from the posts.

Three grid elements and approx. 12 running. M. Saddle brackets are required for an exact replica of the trellis.

Pergola saddle beams serve as posts for our climbing wall. They are sawn in at the bottom to attach to the back wall of the seating area.

For narrow post spacings, the purchased grid elements are shortened in width by one field. You can do that with one hand- or jigsaw.

Remnants of the wooden lattice are used as spacers between posts and lattices. To screw them on, they must be drilled beforehand.
