Watering is one of the most important maintenance measures.
Both types of squash have a higher water requirement than the cucumber and also develop a stronger root system. The individual waterings are therefore generously measured and should not be under 20 to 25 l/m2. The main water demand is between mid-July and the end of August. The pumpkin survives brief periods of drought better than the cucumber due to its deep-reaching roots. It is also important, constantly loosening the soil surface. Any cutting measures are not required.
