The infestation by cabbage fly larvae must be counteracted when planting the kohlrabi.
The cabbage fly lays its eggs on the root neck of young kohlrabi plants. The resulting whitish larvae gnaw at the root collar and penetrate it as well. As a result, the plants perish. The most effective means of destroying the larvae are lindane preparations. This is used to water the plants. When planting, water for the first time and then after about 8 to 10 days again.
