Designing walls made easy – this could be the motto of a new generation of ready-to-use expansion panels. We have tried, whether that is really the case.
What has long been possible on the ground, now also works on the wall. By clicking together laminated elements, a seamless structure is created, robust and clean surface. In the horizontal, these elements are called laminate panels, in the vertical Clickboard. The construction of high-density fibreboard as a carrier layer, decorative wear layer and balancing sheet is absolutely identical for both, Only in size and thickness are the "Clickboard" expansion panels significantly more robust.
Their advantages are obvious: While with the competitors you putty the surface like plasterboard, to prime and wallpaper, Clickboard offers a completely finished surface. Of course, you cannot simply screw the new ones onto the substructure, but have to screw on retaining clips beforehand, which is time-consuming. The biggest difference is in the price: A square meter of wall in plasterboard costs about 3 Euro, with Clickboard off 15 Euro (both without substructure).
WALL DESIGN WITH DOUBLE USE
Decorative wall design with expansion panels is good. It's even better, to combine this decoration with practical use. In our case, we hid two ugly heating pipes behind a single panel, which spoiled the corner of the room and didn't get any prettier even with a white coat of paint. If you want to process a single panel, you basically have to cut both long sides with a circular saw, so that the edge clamps are properly seated. Start as described in the box below.
1 Auch auf dem zweiten Konstruktionsholz montieren Sie die Randklammern. Slide the second clamp parts onto the plate and swing them in. To do this, you have to slightly bend open the edge clamps with a screwdriver.
2 Die Randabschlussleiste können Sie auf die Klammern aufclippen, You need a cut-to-size cover strip made of hardboard or plywood for the construction wood that is visible from the side.
Clickboard – thats how it works
As with all wallboards, you need a substructure of at least 50 mm wide strips. The distance depends on the panel width.
1 Die Randklammern, screwed to the first construction timber, have a maximum vertical distance 20 cm. Deferred spacers ensure an even distance from the wall.
2 Die Mittelklammern schieben Sie auf die Feder und verschrauben Sie am Konstruktionsholz. The distance here is 40 cm.
3 Die nächste Platte setzen Sie schräg an die vorherige an und schwenken sie ein. The joint closes when swiveled in and is later invisible.
4 Die Randklammern bestehen aus zwei, the center brackets in one piece. They are supplied in packs of 50.
