The basis for these ideas are two simple white "Billy" shelves from Ikea, which can be converted into a playhouse in just a few simple steps. And the beautiful: Once the children have outgrown the world of play, the structure is transformed back into two simple bookshelves.
As with all children's furniture, safety is paramount. Here are three important points: 1. The entire structure must be secured against tipping over with strong screws and dowels in the wall 2. The swing seat "Svinga" from Ikea is hung on a thick swing hook. The hook must be screwed through the ceiling panel into one of the three battens. 3. A possible tripping hazard in the base plate is reduced by the round recess.
