The quartz stones were previously only available as a viscous mass, applied to the floor with a spatula. Now they are also available as tiles, which is loosely laid.
For permanent balcony- and terrace renovation, there is now an alternative to ceramic tiles: "Renofloor" prefabricated elements. With this system, the flexible tiles have a stone structure (50x50x0,8 cm) only loosely laid, not grouted. The preparation of the substrate is important: It must be firm and dry. End profiles are fixed around the laying surface with hot glue and dowelled to the floor. To seal against moisture, you can use a roll of flat roof waterproofing on a terrace. Liquid plastic is advisable for balconies, which can be seamlessly drawn around the railing posts.
When laying, insert the tiles – starting at the front edge of the face – in the final profile. The first row is fixed with two-component glue, all other tiles loosely laid. Small gaps can be repaired with the repair set (gravel with plastic) fill and smooth with a spatula.
The tiles are available in twelve colors with grits from 2 and 4 mm available. The finished system for the outside costs around 80 Euro / sqm, for inside round 60 Euro / sqm. Renofloor,
