Look, who comes in from outside

Once you've opened your front door, the uninvited visit can only be got rid of with much embarrassment. It is better, to know beforehand, who to open. Surveillance cameras above the entrance area offer the simplest and most effective option, to distinguish uninvited from welcome visitors.

The term "video surveillance system for the front door" sounds complicated and time-consuming at first. But the technology itself is much simpler. Such a system usually consists of three components: the camera, the transmission unit and the screen. There are basically two options, forward the captured image: via cable or radio. The latter has the great advantage, that you do not have to chisel slits or holes for laying. However, the picture quality can fluctuate a lot with radio. Of course, the positioning of the camera is much more important for the meaningfulness of the image or film. You should install them like this, that you have the entire entrance area (front door or garden gate) to have an eye on. It should be hung like this, that it is safe from willful damage by others, but of course not that high, that you can only see the head of hair of your visitors. Mounting under a roof overhang is ideal, the camera hangs there discreetly, protected from the weather and not too high. Of course, when transmitting images via radio, you also need a receiver, which is ideally already integrated in the corresponding monitor. Most manufacturers of such systems therefore also offer complete sets, where the components are perfectly matched to each other. If you don't want to have an additional monitor in the house, you can also have the image transferred to a suitably equipped PC or to your television. The camera is constantly in operation on most systems, So you always have an image, that you have to click away to use your devices normally.

The prices for such systems can be described as cheap in the simple version. From about 70 You can already get a wireless set with a color camera. However, you can quickly reach the 1000 euro mark for entire systems with several night-vision-capable cameras and TFT monitors.
