Almost everyone has glued them to the wall at some point – the woodchip with its grain-like structure. After all, it is as practical as it is inexpensive. Or should there be an adequate alternative for them?
It's amazing, what variety of wall coverings is gathered under the name wallpaper, a designation, which is derived from the Latin word for carpet. Originally they were wall hangings made of fabric or leather, which, however, were increasingly replaced by printed paper with the advent of the art of printing. Around fifty years after their invention in the year 1864 then woodchip wallpaper started a grandiose triumph. A second boom began in the 1970s in response to the then fashionable wild patterned, today but not very eye-friendly wallpapers.

THE INGREDIENT WALLPAPER
As a rule, a woodchip wallpaper consists of more than 90 Percent made from recycled paper, structuring wood fibers or shavings and flour as well as auxiliary materials. Therefore, it is rightly considered environmentally friendly. It is offered in the normal roll standard size of 33,5 x 0,53 m, in various special sizes and in standard large roll sizes 125 m Length.
In terms of surface and structure, the woodchip wallpaper comes up with a whole range of varieties. The grits range from fine to medium to coarse, and there are those with flat fibers or square chips. Most varieties have a light paper covering. This is the perfect background, to color them individually with dispersion, acrylic- or to design latex paint.
Colored woodchip wallpapers are also available, where even the edges are colored, so that with careful processing they do not have to be painted.
But the list of features and benefits does not end there: The woodchip wallpaper is inexpensive, firstly because it has the lowest price per linear meter among the wallpapers compared here and secondly, because you can cross them over and over again.
Woodchip wallpaper is a wonderful neutral f background for any interior style. It is easy to work with, not least, because no report is to be observed: After all, she has no pattern, something to watch out for when gluing.
Thanks to their multi-layer structure, woodchip wallpaper can be used on all standard construction materials, suitably prepared substrates, also for the do-it-yourselfer. The general rule: The substrate must be dry, viable, absorbent, be clean and smooth.
