The construction is not difficult at all: You can have the material sawn to size at the hardware store, where you also find the piano tape, the suspension fitting, get the Spax screws and the flat/wooden dowels.
The same is true of the dowels: If you are a well-equipped DIYer and own a biscuit jointer (Photo 1 on the next page), prima. Unless, so that's no problem either. Flat dowels are the more elegant solution, but it also works with conventional ones 6 mm thick round wooden dowels, as you can get them in small quantities in any hardware store.
