Whether as a sideboard or side table – these variable modules adapt perfectly to any living situation. A nice detail is the acrylic sliding door, which only closes one side of the cupboard.
If you love simplicity and have a penchant for colour, then these sideboards are an ideal template for rebuilding. But don't let the harmless exterior fool you. A little craftsmanship is required, because a groove is milled with the router to guide the doors – See next page for instructions. When the grooves are milled, the body is glued. Then sand all edges and surfaces thoroughly. The front edge of the center wall, which springs back slightly, it is best to sand beforehand. This will avoid scratches on the base plate. When it came to color choices, we opted for strong tones such as fuchsia, Tomato and reddish brown decided. Be careful when installing the casters, that they are a distance from 25 mm to the edge, so that they can move freely and do not bump into the neighboring cupboard. Now all you have to do is cut the running rail, press into the groove and insert the acrylic glass.
For a closet you will need 19 mm thick MDF board, namely twice 102 x 53 cm for cover- and bottom plate, once 98,2 x 49,2 cm for the back wall, twice 53 x 49,2 cm for the side walls and once 49,2 x 47 cm for the middle wall. That costs around 35 Euro; Custom made acrylic sliding doors 50 x 50 cm to about 10 euros per piece; 750 ml primer for 8,50 euros and 750 ml Acrylic Satin Gloss 10,50 Euro (both are enough for two cabinets); 50×19-mm swivel castors with rubber tread for 20 euros/four pieces; the 2 m long track for the acrylic glass (for example from Hettich or Max Bahr) in a pack of two for 8 Euro.
1 Mit Oberfräse und Nutfräser arbeiten Sie eine 6 mm width and 10 mm deep groove in the cover plate. The base plate receives a groove of 8 mm width and 6 mm depth. Do not mill through, but 19 expose mm from edge.
2 Holzleim auf die Plattenkanten auftragen, Glue the side panel and rear panel to the base plate.
3 Lose eingelegte Distanzleisten garantieren Rechtwinkligkeit und Parallelität der Mittelwand. Before gluing, sand the cut edges of the center wall. Glue on the cover plate.
4 Die Lenkrollen 25 mm from the edge.
5 Mittelpunkt auf der Acrylscheibe anzeichnen (Leave the protective film on), pre-drill with a 3 mm drill bit, so that the pot hinge drill has good guidance. Then peel off the foil on this side.
6 Glasdekor-Folie aufkleben. Cut out the hole and edges with a cutter, remove foil.
7 In die Bodenplatte eine Laufschiene einsetzen. Cut to size with fine saw and cutting box.
