You know that for sure: You look for the right coffee table to set it up and go to the nearest furniture store, but the right one is rarely there. Either too low, to wide, too clunky, often stale, but always expensive. The solution: Do it Yourself! Our construction- We have made design suggestions as a combination of fine birch wood multiplex and deep black MDF board. The special thing about it: The tables are designed in a modular design; so you can, if your needs change, remove the side panels and simply attach another version to the basic module. Now the most important thing – the costs: At a price per square meter for that 18/19 mm thick multiplex of 41 euros and for the black 19mm MDF of about 25 Euro, there is a price, depending on the table version, between 66 and 100 Euro.

The MDF board we use here is an industrially colored black material, which is increasingly finding its way into hardware stores (more about this in the service bar on the right). The advantage: You don't have to stain the MDF black, and it is of the same color throughout. No longer, but also no less! Because when staining MDF, the edges have to be treated a few times more, as the surfaces, because the material sucks the stain into the inside of the panel. And that can be quite difficult. But who doesn't shy away from the effort, can just as well use normal MDF for these tables and stain it with stain. Important: Stain the edges twice and leave to dry. Repeat process, until the desired color is achieved, and finally paint the surfaces.
