Aaaahh eye makeup! It is in fact the most time consuming and tricky part of makeup. Through the yearsTo workplay with makeup, I also adopted some simple techniques, which can save a lot of time – especially on the days, where you want to look presentable, but don't quite have the time, to spend on request.
So, here are some of my favorite tricks, which not only saves you time, but make a mini makeup artist in your own right;)
LINE & CURL
I'm definitely an advocate for curling the lashes. It is amazing, what a difference it can make to your overall look. It's this love curled eyelashes, who also helped me, this “2 for 1” Technique of lining the eyes, as you master them roll. It creates a soft, smeared-in view, the big one for daytime.
you need: a pair of lash curlers and a soft eye pencil – just your regular eye pencil will be fine, as long as it is easy to work with.
With your eye pencil, draw a thin line right along the edge of your eyelash curler; You can make the line, how thin or fat, as you like.
Be sure to, to get as close to your lash line as possible, and press the base of the curler against the skin. Squeeze and release the handle a few times, for sure, that the eyeliner will also help make stains in your lash line and, Curl your eyelashes.
Voila! Don't just curl up your eyelashes, but also fed them! It is so easy!
the kind, How your eyelash curler sits against your eyes is the most important thing; so, if you miss any bits, just smudge and fill in the color with the brush. I always have either Kevyn Aucoin lash curlers here orShu Uemura Wimpernzange (available in selected department stores) as both fit the perfect curve over the big eye shapes
THICKEN your lashes
If you love thick voluminous eyelashes, but not the time to build up a million coats of mascara, or have trouble with false eyelashes, is this trick for you! It's the powder technique, that will help you, Achieve thickness in lashes with only 2 Layers of mascara – but the result is about the same 3-4 coats.
You need: Your regular mascara and loose powder (preferably mineral powder, how they are finely ground and not clumping)
Curl your eyelashes (here I held the line from the curl & Line-Methode, to show you the full effect). A coat of mascara.
Get there with a small fluffy brush, wipe some loose mineral powder over your lashes. Be sure to, to get in one's eyes.
Apply the second coat of mascara and watch each strand thicken before your eyes.
When the first coat of mascara is still wet / wet, Dusting the powder over your lashes will help them, tie on the lashes and soak in. Also, when you go to the second shift, does it help, zu bauen mehr Volumen als wenn Sie es übernehmen Sie natürlichen Wimpern.
PERFECT LINE, every time,
mit Karten, Duct tape or sticky notes
Some of you probably know this well publicized trick, but i had to close it, as it never fails. Unless you place your eyeshadow or liquid liner on it, to get a perfect edge or line (and matching both eyes!) Having can be a difficult task. If you have instructions on how to work though, it really takes minutes, to get a perfect finish.
you need: eyeshadow or liquid / Gel-Liner – depending on your choice. credit or business card, white tape or sticky note.
With eye shadow: Legen Sie die Karte (or stick the tape or sticky note) from the outer edge of the eye up towards the end of the forehead. Apply your eyeshadow against the edge of the card first – Mix, whatever is left on your brush towards the center of the eye. This will give you a perfect line, and also the gradient smokey effect. If you don't want to, that line to be hard, buff the edges with a clean brush til the line softens.
With liquid or gel liner: Auch hier legen Sie die Karte (or stick the tape or sticky note) from the outer edge of the eye up towards the end of the forehead. Apply either liquid or gel liner, starting from the outer corner of the eye go up – against the edge of the card. Extend the line as far as you want. There, where you end the line, start drawing back toward the upper lash line, to complete the view.
When using tape for this method, make sure, it is the translucent one (cloudy) white tape. Cut a piece and glue it to the back of your hand first, Exfoliating and sticking it on and off a few times will make it less sticky. The eye area is very sensitive, so you have to be careful, that you can't be pulling it when removing the tape.
