The larvae of the cabbage gall weevil are destroyed like those of the cabbage fly.

The bulbous outgrowths, caused by the larvae of the cabbage weevil on the roots of kohlrabi, should not be confused with clubroot. In contrast to clubroot, small larvae can be found in the root growths. Withering plants must then be examined and the galls with the larvae destroyed. Such galls can already be present on the young plants. So be careful when buying kohlrabi plants! Infested ones must not be planted. The own seedbed is treated preventively with insecticides, once the cotyledons develop.
