Carpets are still the most popular floor covering in Germany, but have lost ground to laminate in recent years. The motto of the manufacturers is therefore: Away from the gray monotony, to bold colors.
The retro wave doesn't stop at classic floor coverings either. So it's not surprising, that popular in the 70's, then long frowned upon carpet tiles are celebrating their comeback: This has not only optical, but for practical reasons: With the handy and technically significantly improved tiles, colors can be combined as desired, create colorful carpet islands anywhere in the room and create attractive arrangements with other floor coverings. main thing, the whole thing is not monotonous in the truest sense of the word.
But the colors of the carpets themselves are also reminiscent of times past. strong green, Orange- or shades of brown, and tastefully combined in the 70s style, are just finding their way back into the collections of carpet manufacturers. But that's the thing with fashion, namely then, when the selected color is absolutely out and the floor needs to be out again as soon as possible. Because despite all the efforts of the carpet adhesive industry, removing a glued carpet is still a hassle.
Even so-called recovery adhesives do not always work, a shortcoming, which harms the carpet image as a whole and which is being worked on intensively. Whether the Velcro technology that is being heavily advertised at the moment will prevail, remains to be seen. Despite the all-encompassing hunt for bargains, there is a clear trend towards more expensive natural materials when it comes to carpets (for example hemp), namely for the waiter- like the bottom. Even if the fleece backing of modern carpets hasn't made it yet, to finally supplant the foamy back, which has come into the twilight in terms of health, so the interest in and the demand for ecologically and health-wise correct living are unbroken. This also applies to the addition "suitable for allergy sufferers".. Many manufacturers are trying, to take away the stigmata of “allergy-causing” and “house dust mite home” from their product, which is increasingly successful.
