Carpet in the entrance area

In this example the roles are reversed: The carpet is not the floor to be protected here, but the "sacrificial covering". It is ideal in the entrance area, to prevent as a so-called clean-off zone, that you scratch the sensitive laminate with your street shoes.

When laying the carpet, the choice is yours: Do you want to put it directly on the screed, we recommend full-surface gluing here as well (see box above). The second option is this, to lay the carpet on the laminate and fix it. That has the enormous advantage, that you can replace the sacrificial covering at any time without any effort and without damaging the laminate, which can happen every two years at this exposed point.

There are two ways to fix it: the double-sided tape (in the lower picture on the left) and the Velcro. Regarding tensile strength, If the carpet can be taken up several times and the adhesive residue can be easily removed, the Velcro tape is clearly the better alternative. You stick a strip on the laminate, a strip under the carpet and press the two together. The double-sided adhesive tape also sticks, but only once.

With both laying alternatives, the transition must of course be designed with transition rails. Put both, Carpet and laminate, on screed, so you need an expansion joint of about between the rail and the laminate 10 take mm into account. Special clips are available from specialist dealers for this purpose, that keep both coverings at a distance (Picture above). The lower rail leg must also lie under the hard covering and be fixed here. Simply clip in the top rail.
There is already carpet in your hallway, and would apply a second layer too thick, so you can still install a small clean-off zone there. To do this, simply cut out a piece of carpet from the door area using a template you made yourself, and put a suitable one, another colored piece of carpet (Picture below). Of course, you can then only fix the replacement part temporarily, so that you can replace it at any time if necessary. There are no limits to the size of the clean-off zone.
