Need a room divider, a column of books, a spacious wall of shelves? The stacking box is the solution. It is built in series from MDF boards. Result: an incredibly variable shelf element.

We have become a mobile society. Haus- or moving house are just as natural as moving within your own home. New circumstances, changed situations in shared flats or simply having fun in the new environment prompts us, Rearranging furniture or using rooms differently.
This is not always easy with conventional furniture. That's why we designed a box system, that allows individual living space design and can still be set up and rearranged in a flash. Simple rectangular elements, open on one side, are stacked on top of each other as if "bricked in a gap".. Whether on the smooth wall, as a free-standing room divider, as a pyramid or as a compact shelf column: The boxes cut a fine figure in every situation and offer plenty of storage space. Whether books, albums, the LP collection or the stereo system have to be accommodated, here you will find space. And all with one form, which is produced in series as often as desired. So, as you need it.

serial production: It works with a simple template

This is something different: a furniture system made up of simple modules, that are built in series. The good thing: No great technical effort is required to build the boxes. You should have a small table saw. Because the individual parts are mitered together, should the saw on 45 degrees can be inclined, and there must be a rip fence.
But the boxes can also be built without a table saw. The parts cut at right angles by the timber merchant can be butt glued together. The disadvantage of this method: The cut edges remain visible.

building material for the boxes 16 mm thick MDF board. The corner connections are made exclusively by gluing. That is why precisely fitting cuts and clean cut edges without saw marks are important. You can achieve such cuts with a sharp carbide saw blade and little feed when sawing.

If you are cutting the miters on your own saw, have the blanks made a little larger. The back walls for example, which later a finished size of 60 x 36 should have cm, let up 61 x 37 cut cm. The final size is then created with the miter cut.

In order to be able to glue the parts precisely, you should build a gauge based on our model from leftover wood and aluminum angles. It fixes the parts precisely, always guarantees the same exact results and allows you to work without a helper.

When stacking: A few screws hold everything in place

If you work with express glue, a setting time of approx. 20 minutes off. So nothing stands in the way of series production.
When it comes to building a wall of shelves, the stacking boxes should be connected to each other, so that the structure does not slip or wobble. Connecting screws are set for this. These holes must be drilled precisely in the floor and ceiling of the boxes. It is also advisable to build a template for this. The screw connections are countersunk screws M4 x 25 and matching sleeve nuts with countersunk heads.
The MDF board can be covered with colored or clear acrylic- or painted with synthetic resin paint. We went for the simplest method and applied two coats of wood wax. This protects the surface sufficiently and gives the stacking boxes a warm feeling, homely look.
