There's a lot going on there, in the compartments of two high shelves. The cherry colored Billys (80 x 202 cm) are new to the Ikea range and harmonize very well with the anthracite-colored illuminated frame. The construction is a bit more complex, but the effect is worth it! It is best to have the required MDF material cut to size at a hardware store (the dimensions are shown in the drawing below). The frame is laid out like a box, nine holes were drilled in the front side. Behind it is a stapled strip of gauze and a fluorescent lamp on each side. Preis: Regale 2 x 169 Mark, wood approx. 100 Mark, two fluorescent lamps, color approx. 80 Mark.
The two Billy shelves are placed on a base, so that a uniform, circumferential frame width results. You can do this easily, Use unplaned strips or battens.
The light holes on the front of the light boxes are fixed in the drill stand with a 35 mm Forstner bit set.
The frame sides are connected with glue and biscuits. The dowel slots are sawn with the shadow gap saw.
The holes are closed from the back with a gauze strip. The strip is fixed with a stapler.
When the fluorescent lamps are fully assembled, the two boxes and the upper and lower cover strip are screwed together.
