Perfect in front of the window: On the curved plate, flanked by two billy shelves, you can sit sideways.
Most of the time there is not enough space, often the money too, to be able to afford a complete study. Nevertheless, you do not have to do without a job at home. You can build it yourself inexpensively with Billy shelves and a tabletop you saw to size yourself. A combination – ideal for pupils and students.
The two Billy shelves (80 x 202 cm) form the supporting frame for one made of MDF, two-piece worktop. It is curved and has a massive leading edge. After the panel has been cut to size, saw an approx. 10 cm wide strips, which has the same lines as the previously sawn tabletop. It is glued to the front of the panel. Due to the doubling, the plate appears more massive. A table leg is screwed under at the front for support. Prices: Regale 2 x 149 Mark, MDF-Platte ca. 120 Mark, Table leg, color approx. 50 Mark.
The plate consists of two parts. The left part is integrated into the shelf like a shelf. At the front it reaches around the front edge of the shelf and hits the large plate.
The worktop is doubled at the edge. The wide strip is glued and additionally fixed with spax screws.
After doubling, the front edges are sawn exactly to size. Then they are rounded with the router.
Carefully prepare the tabletop with fine sandpaper and then paint evenly with a roller.
The left part of the panel is inserted like a shelf. The leading edge wraps around the sidewall and abuts the panel.
