Without doors, a shoe rack is easy to build. And it takes up little space. Whether it's wide or tall, you decide.
Admittedly, it's a bit unusual, Don't hide shoes behind closet doors or hatches. But when shoes decorate the feet, why should they suddenly look ugly in front of a wall?
The abandonment of furniture sides, doors or flaps saves material compared to shoe cabinets, cost and space. Another advantage of the open shelf is the optimal ventilation.

Who decides on a wood grain, is with multiplex (multilayer plywood) Beech or birch well advised. Come to the wall to stiffen the panel and as a spacer 2 cm thick strips on the back. Bars or aluminum angles on the front serve as slip brakes for the shoe heels. The 8 mm thick elastic cords for holding the toes of the shoes are not available in every hardware store. 1 Record positions for the support strips and screw holes as well as the holes for the bungee cord and wall mounting.
2 Use the mobile drill to create holes and consistently deep countersinks for the rubber rope. wood drill: 9 mm for the rubber band, 6 mm for wall mounting and 4 mm for screwing the support rails (3,5 mm spax screws).
3 After sanding (60he-grit) of edges and faces three- apply clear coat up to four times. Carry out a fine intermediate sanding with 220 grit.
4 On the back of the plate are the top and sides 3,5 cm from the edge spacer strips screwed on.
5 Fix the painted support strips with clamps and screw them through the plate from behind.
6 tip! When cutting the bungee cord, a covering of tape prevents the ends of the cord from stretching.
7 Protruding tape makes threading easier. Knot the ends at the back.
8 The holes for wall mounting are covered by the rubber rope.
