Who doesn't have a niche, build one.
Not everyone has a chimney, which is particularly good as a pillar of a niche shelf. That's why you sometimes have to help out and build such a niche yourself. The best way to do this is with a framework made of slats (These are halved battens and therefore cheaper) and raw chipboard, where the joints and screw heads are filled. We show you here the structure with maximum 40 cm wide strip of chipboard, which make transport from the hardware store home much easier.
With a combination of wood drill and countersink, you can do two jobs in one go. The screw heads must not protrude from the chipboard surface, but should be flush. Such drills or countersinks are available in hardware stores for just a few pounds 5 Euro.
stripewise: The individual chipboard strips can be seen very well in this design drawing. That's why we used chipboard strips, because they are just easier to transport aTs big bulky plates. However, the individual strips then have to be connected to one another with slats and screws. To be seen in the niche cut-out: The 1 cm thick wooden slats, onto which the shelves are pushed.
1 Montieren Sie die Einschublatten mit Schrauben und Dübeln an die Wand. Use a spirit level to help.
2 Die erste Wand wird aufgestellt. Put packing paper under it now, because that also protects the floor from paint and paste.
3 Achten Sie beim Verschrauben darauf, that the screw heads are flush with the chipboard and do not protrude.
4 It applies, to avoid a fixed connection to the ceiling and floor, in order to be able to neglect occurring masonry movements. Because it's difficult, to cut the panels to the exact ceiling height, let them be a little shorter at first and compensate for the difference with narrow strips.
5 + 6 Board by board is now screwed onto the support frame until the wall and niche are finished .
