The ceilings in my house are hollow wooden floors, which are filled with peat and straw. How to soundproof them?
Our answer: Sound doesn't get through the floorboards, but transmitted via the beams, that are on the walls. So you will only be able to reduce the impact sound, namely by a new floor in the upper floor. To do this, lay extruded Styrofoam panels or 4 cm thick fiber insulation boards on the existing floorboards, cover with floor laying panels and additionally insulate with a thick carpet.
