For the right touch

Handy and low-vibration, the random orbital sander PEX 270 AE from Bosch. We have sanded both wood and lacquered surfaces and metals.

The new Bosch random orbital sander PEX270AE has a price of just under 80 Euro in the lower to middle price range for eccentric sanders. It already offers speed electronics and a disc brake. As PEX270A there is for 54,99 Euro also an identical model without electronics. With 270 watt input power, the PEX270AE delivers a decent removal rate, even if it doesn't come close to the much more powerful models. As long as the with 1,8 kg very light machine is not excessively loaded, grinds them quietly and with relatively little vibration and that, although the manufacturer did not use soft grip surfaces on the PEX270 AE. If there is more pressure on the machine, the speed of the sanding disc and the removal rate drop very quickly. A special feature of the PEX270 is the very powerful self-extraction with the Bosch microfilter system. The manufacturer speaks
even from a built-in vacuum cleaner. The suction works very well, as long as the sanding disc rotates at high speed. If, however, the speed of the sanding disc is reduced due to excessive pressure on the machine, the suction effect is drastically reduced.

The new plastic micro filter cassette is equipped with a special pleated filter, as used in air filters for cars, for example. It has a very good filter effect and can be used permanently – Tapping or blowing out is enough. You will no longer have to buy dust bags. You only have to practice a little when emptying, because opening the new microfilter is a bit difficult at first. The installation of the micro-filter box on the machine, on the other hand, is simple and perfectly solved. The placement on the protective bar below the handle is also very convenient and does not interfere with work.
The housing of the small eccentric sander is very ergonomically designed and offers many gripping options. The motor housing has a protruding lug, which can be used as an additional handle, but is also suitable for one-hand operation.

A sanding disc brake prevents this, that the sanding disc revs up when idling and then grinds deep grooves or even holes in the surface when it is placed on the workpiece. The eccentric sander PEX is delivered 270 AE with a somewhat oversized suitcase, which offers enough space for a thick pile of sanding sheets. The many small compartments, on the other hand, are rather useless dust collectors. Like unfortunately many manufacturers of DIY tools, Bosch has saved on the power cable. With 2,55 m it is too short for most applications.
