Subsidy programs make it easier to get started

The reduction of pollutant emissions is an important objective of environmental policy – and therefore homeowners get, investing in solar technology, money to it. The Federal Office of Economics (www.bafa.de) currently has a grant from 125 euros per square meter of solar collector area. The Reconstruction Loan Corporation (www.kfw.de) has several programs, according to which it grants low-interest loans for solar technology: the KfW CO2 building renovation program, the KfW program for CO2 reduction and the KfW residential modernization program. They differ in interest rate and subsidy amount. Many communities also offer local support programs. Further information can be found at www.energiefoerderung.info There you will also find information on the promotion of photovoltaic systems. The 100,000 roofs program, granted the interest-free loan, has unfortunately expired. The various KfW offers also apply to solar power systems. The price is particularly interesting, that the energy supply companies have to pay for solar power fed into the grid: von 2004 an 43,4 cents per kilowatt hour. Since the price for delivered electricity is significantly lower, so it's worth it, to feed the entire domestic production into the grid.
