Even if there is no chimney, you don't have to do without the romantic atmosphere of a fireplace. Alternatively, there are electric heating cassettes with a play of flames.
Flickering fire or smoldering embers – With most fireplace inserts, you can conveniently choose using the remote control, what you like right now. And if you also want to be cozy and warm, turn on the built-in heater. Then the illusion of a real wood fire is perfect. The only requirement for comfort is an electrical outlet.
Most manufacturers offer borders in different styles. We will show you with the help of two building proposals, how the bets come into their own. The linear one is more suitable for a modern interior, simple frames in blue. Two models from one design
The heart of our two fireplace models is the "Langton 212" heating cassette. (round 835 Euro) with the measurements 53 x 45 x 18 cm. For the inner frame, which surrounds the fireplace insert, we have a base frame 19 mm thick MDF panels. The top cover is 22 cm wide and 65,5 cm long, the fronts left and right each 57,5 cm high and 10 cm wide, the bottom bar is 45,5 cm wide and 6,5 cm high. The base plate, 65,5 x 16 cm (see working photo 3), written on the fireplace insert, is painted black.
A black plastic angle profile is used to ensure a clean transition between the front frame and base 44,8 x 4 x 1 cm. Four strips are placed all around on the stop plates of the heating cassette (51,5 x 3 x 0,5 cm) glued, which are previously painted matt black. You can also buy the trim strips ready made, but they are relatively expensive (about 250 Euro). For the body, which is called facade in specialist shops, we also have MDF, 19 mm, used. For this you need the following cuts: Twice 105,6 x 23 cm for the side panels, twice 105.6×20 cm for the fronts, 61,7 x 28 cm for the upper front piece as well as one 97,9 x 23 cm large shelf for storage. To attach the base frame with heating cassette to the decorative body, are spacer strips on the back of the facade (picture right side) appropriate. The upper horizontal stripe is 97,9 x 3 cm, the two vertical bars have the measurements 77,6 x 3 cm.

4 Jetzt kommen wir zum Zierkorpus: After the three front parts are glued, the sides and top panels are glued. Again, pay attention to flushness, because
this makes the subsequent grinding work easier.

6 Die Schleifarbeiten können mit einem Delta-, swing- or random orbit sanders.
7 Die stark saugenden Plattenkanten spachteln und schleifen und den Korpus grundieren (Molto's MDF primer provides good coverage), before the final painting is done. Sand with 240 grit sandpaper.
