60's style CD-DVD archive vol.2The construction of the jukebox begins with the base cabinet made of MDF board. All parts are first put together dry, so that they can be dismantled again for painting. The parts are cut, Edges and corners rounded, then ground, Sides and rear wall screwed together. Plates are required as feet and for fastening the four tubes. You cut them out with a hole saw and adapt them to the inside dimensions of the pipe. The upper, U-shaped end frame is mitered together, equipped with plates and placed on the tubular columns. The upper bow consists of solid side panels and two hardboard strips, which are glued together at a distance.
Die Trommel wird aus Sperrholzplattenkernen und umlaufenden Hartfaserstreifen zusammengesetzt. Abschnitte von Aluwinkelprofilen, which are glued around the smaller drum ring, form the guide for the CDs. A carpet strip provides the counter pressure, which is glued from the inside against the larger drum ring.

Mark the center point for the rounding and the foot attachment with the marking gauge and mark the rounding with the compass.
Pre-cut with the jigsaw, make a template and reroute the edge with the router with copy flange and 10 mm groove cutter.

floor, Screw the sides and back panel together, mount the door hinges beforehand and screw on the plates as feet and pipe attachment.

Exactly round with a right-angled edge, the large curves can be cut with the router. A do-it-yourself compass guides the machine.
The hood of the drum consists of two hard fiber strips, which are glued with spacers. The semicircular back wall forms the core.

The smaller drum consists of two plywood discs and spacer plates. The aluminum angle profiles are glued on with assembly tape.

Both drums, the size, now open on one side and the small one with the profiles, are put on a common axis and glued.

The complete drum goes into the semi-circular hood. There is a hole with a plastic bushing in the rear wall of the hood.

MDF board is very absorbent. Before applying the paint, the surfaces to be painted must be generously pre-painted with primer or undercoat.

Self-adhesive foil (d-c-fix) brings the glitter look. The surfaces, which are covered with it, must be primed beforehand for better adhesion.

The drum for the CDs consists of two rings lying one inside the other. The larger one is open at the front. The CDs are pushed into the space between the two rings and prevented from tipping sideways by the soft carpet pile.
