Balcony folding table: A place in the Sun

Balcony tables often take up a lot of space. Not this weatherproof folding table, which is also storage space for seat cushions and a parasol holder.

How wonderful can a sunny day on the balcony be, if you have enough space for yourself, has a chair and a parasol – and of course a set table with delicious croissants and fine-smelling coffee. But all too often the table takes up too much space, especially, if it's not a folding table. But even if, where to go with him, if you want to hang laundry to dry on the balcony? Forget about all the folding tables, that you have known so far and take a closer look at our building proposal. It is a space-saving table, Pillow cabinet and parasol holder in one – and built quickly. There is still plenty of time for croissants and coffee on the weekend!

And that's how it's done.

You need a waterproof material for this balcony furniture, namely a so-called screen printing plate. You can get this sheet material as well as the multiplex sheets in the hardware store cut to size.

1 All connections are glued with 10 mm dowels. A drilling aid ensures that the drill holes are exactly seated.

2 The plinth panel (here with dowel markers to mark the drill holes), jumps from the front edge of the side by two plate thicknesses (36 mm) back. The clamped auxiliary stop is a great help here.

3 First screw the pine strips onto the back wall and then fix them to the side panel with Spax screws.

4 Now the body is glued together with all components and using screw clamps.

5 Mount the cover plate on the body with dowels and screws. An attached bar keeps the distance to the front edge exactly.

6 Turn the body upside down, one washer each with double-sided adhesive tape (Spacers) glue to the pivot point holes in the side wall and insert the table top. Then the carriage bolt from the outside through the side and support strip (drilling 15,5 cm from the end of the table top) the table top and tighten with the washer and self-locking nut.
