Plants and water hoses are protected, if devices are attached to the bed corners, along which the hoses can slide without being damaged.
Wooden rollers are best for this, revolving around an iron rod, as can be seen from the sketch. You only need two of them, because they can be moved quickly and easily. Using wine bottles is a bit more cumbersome, which you bury halfway into the ground with the bottom of the bottle facing up. You need two of them per bed path, because they cannot be moved like the wooden rollers. Short round stakes driven into the corners of the beds, protect the plants on the beds, but not the hose. The friction is so strong, that the hose walls suffer greatly.
