Caring for garden tools makes them easier to use and extends their lifespan.
Many allotment garden tools are made entirely or partially of metal. They often come into contact with damp earth. That is why they rust easily, if they are not carefully cleaned and rubbed dry and stored protected against rain after each use. If they are not used for a long time, you have to grease them lightly after rubbing dry, because they rust quickly even in moist air and are therefore exposed to spoilage.
