After dealing with the general needs of plants, the individual growth factors and their interaction, shouldn't be difficult for the reader, to determine the appropriate measures in the maintenance of his houseplants on a case-by-case basis.
The better we can do it, to come close to the natural conditions of the plants in the room that have been removed from their native environment, the more perfectly the plants unfold their species-typical characteristics. Above all, we have to ensure that the lighting, Temperature- and humidity conditions. We also have to take care of the timely replacement of the consumed nutrients by fertilizing or transplanting. That we at plants, which are intended to decorate the room, look after their attractive appearance throughout the year, is self-evident. So we have to constantly remove dead leaves and faded flowers and swaying ones, attach shoots of climbing plants that require support. Some plants may also require pruning from time to time, to stimulate new growth and promote the willingness to flower. Such a reset is often appropriate for plants as well, which become too big and then look slightly “sticky” due to their length, like this e.g. B. can be the case with the rubber tree.
Of course, these special maintenance measures must be carried out at the right time in the developmental stage of the plant.
The following is a brief guide to the most important maintenance measures. They are not intended as recipes, which can be applied to any plant at will. It should only be basic questions, general aspects and rules of caring for indoor plants will be discussed. Special requirements of the different species are then given in their description under "care requirements"..
