In wet summers, late blight often occurs on the eggplant, which questions all success.
The leaves turn brown and the fruits also become blotchy, so that they cannot be used. Most of the time, the plants perish as well. The only protection against this are cold frames, with which to overbuild the eggplant. A good makeshift are wooden frames covered with foil, which can be used in place of windows.
