How to do a square code?

It's not difficult at all, to create a square code. We write down any short message and count the number of letters. Then we look for the square root or the number, which, multiplied by itself, gives the total sum of the letters. Is the number for example 16, then we calculate √16= 4; that means four vertical and four horizontal rows.

But what, if it 59 letters are ? There is no whole number, which is multiplied by itself 59 results. 7 · 7 is 49 and 8 · 8 same 64. In such a case, we take the next largest number and fill in the gaps somewhere with a few Xs.

But not all codes are as simple as this one. Some are very involved, and specialists sometimes need weeks, to decode them. Let us now examine another code, the one not made of letters, but consists of numbers:

505324150044132343
152412444500014510
000024340031351415

Now that looks really difficult! Let's take a close look at him, so we find, that no number is greater than 5 and that there are many zeros in it. We'll have a clue? A decryption professional knows immediately: This is a square number code. You make it, by making a square with 25 fields:

tmp8d3d-1

Each letter is composed of two numbers. The first number indicates the row, the second the vertical row. So is 23 the second transverse row and the third vertical row, means the letter "h". The zero is placed between the words in this code. You can write as many zeros as you like, as you want, since they always only mean spaces. The first digit of the message is the code character here, In this case it is 5. Now we decrypt the message! The 50 shows, that a five-square was used for the alphabet. The first word after the zero is 532415. To form letters we write them like this: 53 24 15. Now let's apply the code, so we find, that 53 w means, 24 i und 15 e. So the word means "like". The rest is easy to decipher. It's a question – what is it?
