Hello beauties! couple of posts back, I have a lengthy review of the new NARSissist Dual Intensity Palette Eyeshadow here. I also had two makeup tutorial videos from NARS Media show, how to create different looks with this color palette. But of course, that a beauty junkie, I had to put it to the test myself.
I see the below, and i can tell, that the shadows are applied and blended nicely throughout the process. Considering I have them dry and wet, to test the intensity, I did not find any problems with diffusing the product or other application problems.

NARSissist Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette
I went with a classic style of lighter colors on the inner corners of the eyes gradually getting darker towards the outer corners. I don't have the color too high on my crease, as i personally like a more subtle look on myself. Of course you can customize this to your own liking.
That thick rich black line, the one you see on my upper lash line is Sycorax – the matte black eyeshadow used in the palette is wet. It's literally turned into a matte liquid liner, when i wet it, so that's a big hint, how pigmented these shadows are.
I have the flat shader brush, that comes with the palette, to set the colors, but used my MAC 217 Blending Pinsel, to mix them out. When using the colors get wet, I just dipped my brush in some water and diluted or built up the paint as much, as I wanted. You can use a binding spray quite safely, such as MAC Fix +, if you prefer. But water worked perfectly.
I do a lot of layering and way different from this part of the process, taking a little time and effort, the mixture, the formula of the eye shadow definitely made it easy, achieve an uncomplicated look.
steps, around this look
For every color (except for the lower lash line), I first applied the shadows dry and buffed them out. I then repeated the same process with the eyeshadow wet and blended again. You can build the intensity of these eye shadows and how shiny you want them, by doing these steps as often, as you wish.
1. Prep the eyes with an eye primer. I have Laura Mercier Eye Base in Caramel.
2. Wear Europe (soft shimmer pink shade) on the inner corner of the eyes in a sideways V shape. Buff it with a blending brush. Repeat the process, by getting wet on the same area with the same shadow. Buff with the Blending Brush.
3. Take over Himalia (cool gold shadow) in the middle of the eyelid, Blend in the pink paint on the inner corners. repeat the process, by getting wet on the same area with the same shadow. Buff with the Blending Brush.
4. Take over Ursa Major (brown shadows) on the outer corner of the eyes in a sideways V shape. Blend them well into the crease and the gold color in the center. repeat the process, by getting wet on the same area with the same shadow. Buff with the Blending Brush.
5. Optional: Apply Subra (deep purple / brown shadows) above the environment: Ursa Major. I did this, to add extra warmth and dimension, but you can leave the brown color as it is, if you want. No need either, re-apply this color wet, as i just wanted the warm purple shimmers in this shade, to shine over the brown color.
6. Use Sycorax (matte black shadow) nass, draw a line along the upper lash line with a pencil liner, to define the eyes.
7. Bottom lash line: Wear Europe (pink) on the inner corner of the lower lash line (dry); Himalaya (gold) in the middle, Ursa Major (braun) on the outer third. Mix these colors together, to achieve a seamless line. Go over the outer thirds with the black shadow, to intensify the look.
8. Dab some extra Himalia (golden shadow) on the middle of the eyelid – that gives the look extra dimension.
9. Wear your favorite black mascara and your choice of false eyelashes (Line the inner rim of the eyes with a black eyeliner).
Requiring some blending time apart from this particular look, the multidimensional view, which I achieved in the end was worth it. The dual-intensity purpose of these shadows and layering of the different colors and textures allowed me, to create an original look. I think, this is the fun part of this palette … the versatility and countless possibilities, how to use the colors, to create your own signature look;)
