Towel dryer is simply ideal. Do not only offer cozy warmth in the bathroom at any time) dry, towels ready to hand. Replacing the old radiator with a towel dryer is quick and easy!
Comfortable warmth is actually a matter of course in the bathroom, but towels are often only dry and usable days after showering. This can be remedied by a "towel dryer" that replaces the old radiator under the window. However, you need sufficient space on the wall: According to the standard, a comfortable temperature of 24 ° C is provided in the bathroom and for this you need a towel dryer of at least 60 in an average bathroom×180 cm size. The radiator we installed is 60 x 167 cm tall ("Ellissi" from Heat, about 240 Euro) and the conversion can be done in one day. ►
1 First, empty the heating system and loosen the screw connections from Vor on the old radiator- and rewind.
2 Now loosen the bracket of the radiator, tilt it forward and take it off the wall. Attention: Dirty heating water can still escape here.
3 Now you chisel the wall from the old to the future pipes 5 cm deep.
4 With 90 ° fittings, the lines are laid horizontally or upwards in the wall.
5 Insulate the lines with felt or foam against chemical decomposition or flow noises.
6 Fix the lines with plaster, Solder the threaded flange for the valves, Unscrew the valve and check the distance from the wall.
7 Now the vent valve on top of the radiator and…
8 …Screw the threads for the thermostat and return valve into the radiator bars at the bottom.
9 Now the radiator is placed on the prepared wall brackets, laterally aligned and fixed with grub screws.
10 Finally, screw together the towel dryer and valves from Vor- and rewind.
Three good connections
A Usual soldered connections hold tight by solder, which melts on the heated metal and fills the gap between pipe and fitting through capillary force.
B The connection of plastic lines is easier, which is welded to the fittings with a special adhesive.
C Round and cleanly deburred pipes can be easily connected with reusable push-in fittings.
The line assembly is particularly easy, because the tubes remain rotatable.
