Dosed darkness from the roll: Roller blinds prove themselves time and time again, because they are expediency, pleasing appearance, Combine low price and reliable technology. In any case, pretty reliable technology. Because of course it happens, that the spring mechanism of a snap blind sometimes slackens.

Should the pen be tired, you can re-tension it with a crank. Even if nothing moves anymore, you don't have to completely replace the roller blinds. A defect can be repaired with little manual effort. However, the spring mechanism cannot be replaced. In most cases it has to be replaced. We immediately took an elevator with a ball chain. It is less prone to failure anyway.

And vice versa? The mechanics are intact, only the fabric is dirty? No reason either, to buy something new! Blinds that have become unsightly can be replaced in just a few simple steps. Dirty bottom edges can also be easily cut off. So everything comes back on track.

The blind is too wide? no problem!

A narrower blind is easy to manufacture. Unroll the blind completely, Mark the shortening and cut the fabric with a cutter and steel bar.
The rod is shortened with a puk saw (Got over 5 mm). Pull out the end pin with a pair of pliers and press it into the new end.

The defective spring mechanism of a roller blind is knocked out of the rod with the help of a wooden strip and a hammer. A ball chain replaces the old winding mechanism. Their components are – in contrast to the spring mechanism – also available separately. Fabric that has become unsightly is removed, new cut and tacker (on wood) or with double-sided tape (on metal) fixed.

Dirty lower edges can be cut off with the cutter (Roller blinds usually offer a reserve in length). Create a new hemstitch with contact adhesive.
A decorative loop instead of a drawstring is made from cut material: around the bar, glue or staple.
Should the spring mechanism accidentally unroll completely, but still be intact, it can be tightened again with a small crank.
