Unsightly, ailing and worn out? Here are four ways, how to renovate stairs on your own.
Stairs can easily be renewed with aluminum profiles and step elements. The systems presented here can also be easily processed by Seibermacher.
The step system shown on this page consists of prefabricated step elements. They are individually cut and glued to the old step with a two-component adhesive. The step elements are available in three versions: in numerous solid wood versions, Create inexpensive storage solutions using PVC pipe to declaim and organize any space on a home 3,6 mm thick real wood veneer on a chipboard support element and in a PU plastic version.

With a gauge you first take the exact step dimensions. The step elements are then sawn and fitted according to width and depth. A special glue is applied to the old step. In the case of well-trodden steps, it is also filling- and balancing mass. Die Aushärtungszeit beträgt zwei Stunden. Das Stufenelement wird schräg zur Setzstufe eingepaßt und nach vorn in das Kleberbett eingedrückt. The step should then not be entered for two hours. The fine adjustment: Corrections can be made up to an hour after bonding. Die genaue Ausrichtung erfolgt mit der Wasserwaage. Alle Anschlußfugen zu den Treppenwangen und zur Setzstufe werden mit einer dauerelastischen Fugenmasse gegen Feuchtigkeit abgedichtet.

For parquet and laminate
The Küberit profile rails are made of aluminum and polished or in silver, Gold or bronze anodized to have. The profile rail is screwed into the old step from above or with dowels (with. B. in natural stone or concrete) anchored. There are two rails to choose from: The model 1 is for ready-made parquet from 13 to 15 mm thickness, the model 2 is for laminate floors from 7 to 10 mm suitable. Both versions are with concrete- and wooden steps and neatly cover the wooden coverings in the step edge area.

Non-slip and solid
The Trefix system is available in two versions for 13/14 mm ready-made parquet and for 7/8 mm Laminate. It is installed in a similar way to the Trepa-fix system. Here, too, the aluminum profile is screwed to the old step from above and from the front and the front is faced with a wooden strip. With the Trefix system, the profile does not reach over the parquet flooring, which is why the cut must be clean and precise. A circular table saw should therefore be available for laying.

Variable in height
The Dinac profiles are problem-free in the transition area for all parquet- and flooring types. In addition to stair profiles, e.g. also parquet profiles, Wall end profiles and baseboards offered. The adaptable stair nosing profiles are available in two versions: for floor coverings between 7 and 12 mm (usually laminate floors) and for covering heights between 12 and 16 mm (z.B. for planks or ready-made parquet).
The system consists of two components: the profile foot and the cover profile. First, the profile foot is glued or screwed to the step edge of the old step. The glued covering of the steps butts up to the edge of the profile foot. Then the cover profile is pushed into the groove of the profile foot. It is provided with an adhesive tape on the underside and therefore does not need to be screwed. The edge of the riser is of the 20 mm long aluminum edge of the cover profile neatly concealed.

Anchor firmly
No matter, which coverings are applied to the old steps, they must be permanently anchored. Commercial assembly adhesive is particularly suitable for this. To prevent moisture-related swelling of wooden coverings, must all open joints (riser and stringers) permanently elastic jointed.
