Sliding door with portholeThe three black-stained Billy shelves harmonize very well with the sliding door and the beech plinth (s. large photo on previous page). The three shelves (202 cm high, 80 cm wide) are screwed. The sliding door (that. 220 cm high, 80 cm wide, Blockboard with beech veneer) hangs with two sliding door rollers in an aluminum angle profile. The profile is screwed onto the front edge of the shelf ceiling.

Since the side walls protrude a little over the shelf ceiling, a flat padding must be placed under the angle profile (with. B. a bar or a PVC strip) be placed. A guide groove is milled into the lower edge of the door. In the door socket (in the area of the middle Billy shelf) two shelf supports are inserted, which run in the groove and which give the door stable guidance. price of this solution: 3 x 169 Mark for the shelves, blockboard, lipping, roller and aluminum profile approx. 80 Mark.

The rollers on the sliding door run in the aluminum bracket, the I1 is screwed onto the top edge of the shelf.

Shelf supports in the plinth guide the door along the bottom edge.

The sliding door made of beech protrudes approx. 20 cm and thus covers the guide rail. The door can slide across the full width of the shelf.
Four shelf supports are let into the blind base as guides. The pins each sit level with the outside of the shelves (see diagram), so that it is not possible to unhook the door in any position.

The section of the porthole is drawn on the door leaf with a circular marker and sawn out cleanly with a jigsaw.

Use the iron to iron the real wood edging onto the edges of the door leaf and in the cutout.

With the shadow gap saw, the groove for the shelf supports can be easily milled into the door leaf as the lower door guide.

The sliding door rollers must be mounted precisely, so that the door leaf hangs and is a few millimeters away from the cover base.
