plywood - A homeAn animal species is certainly not threatened with extinction: that of stuffed animals, the proof of this can be found in every child's room. Just: Where do you put them all?? This knight's castle is a solution – and of course an attractive toy in its own right. Christmas is just around the corner and with it a new invasion of stuffed animals. The cuddly toys range from the smallest plush beetle to the almost life-size polar bear- and cuddly toys from aunts, Carried to the gift tables of the little ones by grandfathers and friends. Which ultimately makes them beloved or only tolerated roommates in the children's room, the new owners alone decide.
But of course all soft toys need a worthy home, the currently beloved ones and also those, who are not among the favorites at the moment. A simple plastic box or a drawer are of course not appropriate for the nice cuddly friends and do not correspond to their material value. He is, especially for limited edition collectibles and replicas of classic stuffed animals, not insignificant.
We have created an appropriate place to stay for the little darlings: a castle with many windows, pinnacles and balconies, where the animals are well housed. They are always present there, quickly at hand when needed and always have the children's room well under "control".
Build a home for the stuffed animals in the shape of a castle, should only be a suggestion. According to the same construction principle, which is described on the following page, can just as well be a lighthouse, a skyscraper, create a rock with caves or other structures. Shape and size are based on your and your children's imagination, according to the space available and the number and size of the animals, who need a home.

building material for our stuffed animal castle 9 mm thick plywood. Three elements are built, the two side towers and a central part, which are then screwed together. Tor- and window openings are cut out of the front panels beforehand and the saw edges are slightly chamfered with sandpaper. The individual plywood parts are butted against each other at the corners and joined together with glue and nails. To do this, use wire pins with upset heads. They are hammered in flush and can hardly be seen later.
The design of the surface is left to your personal taste. We painted rock outlines directly onto the wood.

The stuffed animal castle consists of three elements. They are individually assembled and painted and sealed with clear acrylic paint. Then screw the three i elements together. The castle can also be hung on the wall with strong cupboard hangers. Is she on the floor?, the structure should be secured against tipping over by screwing it to the wall.

The individual parts are cut with a circular saw according to the information in the drawing. Then draw the door and window sections.
To insert the saw blade, drill holes in the window cutouts and saw out the contours. Smooth saw edges with sandpaper. Glue and nail the individual parts of the three elements butt. For equal distances fix a blank as a template with a clamp.
Rear walls and fronts are also glued and nailed. Sie geben Stabilität und sorgen für die Rechtwinkligkeit der Elemente. Die Brüstungsteile mit den ausgesägten Zinnen werden von außen gegen die Mauern des Mittelteils geleimt und ebenfalls genagelt.
The towers get a surrounding parapet, which is applied from the outside. This creates the impression of a wall projection. Round timbers are glued from the inside against the rear parapet as flagpoles. The wooden ball and stander are attached to the pole at the top.
The contours of the stones are drawn with a felt pen. Then paint the surfaces with non-toxic poster paint and paint over them colorless.
