Before we get into the details of houseplant care, we must first gain an insight into the elementary processes of plant life. Here we recognize, that there are different factors, which, in their interaction, cause the normal course of life functions:
To the factors, which affect the plants through the environment and decisively influence their life processes, belong air, light, Temperature, water and nutrients.
You can only enjoy plants, when all these factors are presented in a harmonious relationship. This is with the plants, which are kept in the room and their environment, i.e. largely shut off from the outside world, mainly by our culture- and care measures are designed, particularly the case.
As is well known, a deficiency in one of the growth factors cannot be replaced by an excess of another. For example, it is useless, to want to achieve a particularly lush growth, for example through copious fertilization, when the plants lack water with only moderate light or insufficient heat!
If we look at the life-forming factors and their interaction, we need to think about that too, in which way the influence on the life processes of the plant takes place in detail.
